I am 30, single, a med tech, and a graduate student. I feel that I'm generally a very good saver and a so-so budgeter. Hopefully, I'll be able to work on the later.

My personal finance strategy is, in order of priority:

1. Contribute maximum to Roth IRA.

2. Contribute 20% of gross income to 457(b), 403(b), or 401(k).

3. Build savings to 6 months' income.

4. Pay off credit cards in full each month.

5. Pay off car and graduate school loans.
